The Visayan Technician Institute, or the TUP-Visayas now, under the supervision of the Technological University of the Philippines, occupies a four-hectare lot consisting of five major buildings and costing a total of five million, five hundred thousand pesos (P5.5). Training equipment for the various technology area cost approximately eight million pesos (P8 M).
The land was acquired as a provincial government donation during the incumbency of the then Honorable Governor Alfredo Montelibano Jr. The four-hectare lot was initially occupied by the Talisay Provincial High School but was relinquished in favor of the said institution.

Mission and Vision Statement
The Technological University of the Philippines - Visayas, initially established as Visayan Technician Institute, a prototype technician institute servicing the Visayas, shall continue to explore and develop technological programs as part of the national thrust towards the democratization of opportunities and optimization of benefits so that the Filipino People will be the instrument and beneficiary of Philippine industrialization.

Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) is an educational assessment scheme which recognizes knowledge, skills and prior learning obtained by individuals from non-formal and informal education experiences.
The Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP) is an educational assessment scheme which recognizes knowledge, skills, and prior learning obtained by individuals from non formal and informal education experiences. By establishing equivalency competence standards and a comprehensive assessment system employing written test, interview, skills demonstration and other creative assessment methodologies, higher education institutions may administer competency-based evaluation. A Panel of Assessors is convened to determine the candidates’ knowledge, skills and attitudes relevant to a particular discipline, and a consequently equivalent credit and appropriate certificates and degrees are awarded by administering higher education institutions.

TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY OF THE PHILIPPINES – VISAYAS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION, INC.
In support of the Alumni , the TUPVAAI open the lines of communication among members, get connected and assume one identity as Alumni of TUP-V. It provides a means where members may seek or grant support to one another in need, share knowledge in each one’s areas of expertise, open up avenues of opportunity in employment and entrepreneurship and exchange ideas in the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation.
In Support of TUP-V, it promotes educational, social and charitable activities and programs that may contribute to the welfare of TUP-V as a learning institution and its students. To establish a Scholarship Program to help deserving but needy students of TUP-V. It also helps to place graduating students on on-the-job trainings and assist graduates in finding suitable employment.
In Support of Community Development, it wish to encourage and support activities that would benefit developing communities especially in the area of education. It promote cooperative relations among government offices, civic groups,non-governmental organizations and the business sector in planning and implementing programs for the benefit of needy communities.
